The Behaviour Change Program is an innovative program for dogs who suffer from complex behavioural problems, or emotional disorders. For these dogs, it's not just about training, but also about better understanding the nature of their condition and how to manage it. It is why we focus on teaching you how to guide your dog to new ways to think, feel and behave. This program helps people provide their dog with all the care and strategies they need to ensure success in their lives together.
We treat the dogs as individuals, using our extensive knowledge of animal behaviour and learning theory to determine the underlying cause of your dog's issues. Whether it is anxiety, lack of confidence, fear or aggression we provide you with a bespoke treatment plan for each dog. Our success rate is unheard of using only fear-free, force-free and positive reinforcement, managing the hardest cases, with a 98% successful rate.
Holistically, we don't look at only one problem but all problems within your dog's life. We use a process called Systems Thinking which allows us to see connections amongst many things in both yours and your dog's life. This benefits every client looking for a different approach as it affords a comprehensive and strategic view of the dog's behaviour and the best path to resolve the issues.
Once engaged with our program, you will join us twice weekly. The first weekly meeting is over video conference with Sparky Smith, a leading Dog Psychologist and Behaviourist, and Lesley Zehr, PivotalChange.ca's Psychology Behaviour Consultant. The second weekly meeting is an in-person private sessions with Lesley at the City Limits Boarding facility in Kitchener.
Our Behaviour Change Program is a 12-week program, which includes;
*if deemed required
Through our process, we see you; as your dog's advocate, caregiver, coach, enricher, protector and teacher. Each role is adapted and taught to you to support changing behaviours for life. And, we don't leave you once we are done the program, which is why we set lifetime goals for all behaviour issues, not just issue and not for just one time in your life. You are joining our dog family, so the goals developed are important and co-created with you, agreed to and then shared across our team.
Our team is intensely focused on reaching the goals throughout our program, tailoring each step to what works for you, your style, your dog and your dog's personality. We specifically focus on your relationship with your dog, building it up to support the behaviours we put in place so you can sustain a loving, cooperative partnership for years to come.
Every step of the way we coach, cheerlead, direct, teach and partner with you to help your dog.
