To All Clients:
We are now working in-home, in-person with the exception of Muskoka, where our facilities provide for our program sessions.
We are monitoring the Delta Variant and the impacts; however, based on several phone calls to the government, we have been classified as a service allowed to remain open due to the unique nature of our practice. This classification is for all our in-person practices in Ontario. The only change we are monitoring, should cases rise again, is to move our sessions outdoors.
We will update this page again as new information is made available.
More details are available should you wish to email: Sparky@PivotalChange.ca.
Please contact us with any questions at the email above.
All the best,
Sparky Smith
Our COVID-19 Safety Plan
Pivotalchange.ca is operating under the most current issuance of Reg. 82/20, Schedule 1, Subsection 22.2 "Other businesses that provide services to animals that are necessary for their health and welfare, including farms, boarding kennels, stables, animal shelters and research facilities." This classification was identified by "Stop the Spread". Any questions in regards to this classification are to be directed to Sparky Smith, owner and operator of PivotalChange.ca, at 647-231-5326 or via email, sparky@pivotalchange.ca.
All clients are mandated to inform us prior to our session if they are experiencing any symptoms, or have been near to someone who may have been exposed to COVID-19. There are no punitive measures for last minute cancellations should this be the case. Under these conditions, the session will be postponed until we receive a negative test result and then, the program will resume at our next available opening. All our clients in our program will not have travelled out of country in 14 days prior to starting the program, nor will have taken a vacation during our program period. We maintain any session to a maximum of 4 people including the Behaviour Associate and the other 3 people must be part of the same household. Over 2 people must be approved by Sparky Smith as necessary for the dog's treatment and outweigh the risks.
Our service sessions takes place outdoors only in Toronto (read more about our Muskoka facilities below). Both the client and the Behaviour Associate will wear masks at all times, without exception. Equipment is not shared including leashes. Social distancing of 6 m. or more is required for the entire session period. Hand sanitizer is carried by the Behaviour Associated and used regularly. Clients are encouraged to do the same.
Our service sessions at our Muskoka Dog Education Centre are held both indoors and outdoors. Our Centre houses a large indoor heated facility, called the Activity Centre. It provides for exceptional social distancing of greater than 6 m.
All clients must wear masks when arriving on property, prior to exiting their car. One household at a time is seen, with a maximum of 4 people in attendance, where two are employees of PivotalChange.ca.
Complete sanitization of the Activity Centre occurs before/after each session.
Hand sanitizer is available at the entryway. Social distancing of 6 m. or more is required during the entire session period.
Any questions in regards to our safety plan and our protocols are to be directed to Sparky Smith, owner and operator of PivotalChange.ca & the Muskoka Dog Activity Centre at 647-231-5326 or via email, sparky@pivotalchange.ca.
